About Stefani Goerlich

Stefani is a Forensic Sexologist and Clinical Social Worker who has been recognized as one of the world's leading experts in working with Gender, Relationship, and Sexuality Diversities.
In the past, Stefani has worked with high-risk young people, adolescents with problematic sexual behaviors, pediatric and adult survivors of sexual trauma, commercial sex workers, and survivors of human trafficking. She is currently in private practice in Metro Detroit, Michigan, where she offers Sex, Relationship and Mental Health therapy to members of the GSRD community, their partners, and their families. Stefani earned a Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University, where she specialized in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Ecumenial Theological Seminary. She completed her Post-Graduate Certificate in Sex Therapy at the University of Michigan (where she is on the teaching faculty of the Sexual Health Certificate Program) and holds a PhD in Clinical Sexology. She is currently completing a second PhD in Social Work at Wayne State University, where her areas of research interest include conceptualizations of deviance and how emerging technologies (re)shape our relationships with our bodies, our sexuality, and each other. |
